Web of Science - Cited Reference Search for Arts, Humanities, Business & Social Sciences
The Web of Science databases are popularly used as they index a wide range of journals and the citing references found are journal articles.
NUS Libraries subscribes to its three databases from 1980-: Arts & Humanities Citation Index; Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index.
From NUS Libraries homepage, under Major Databases, click on Web of Science.
The
is a feature specially for finding citing references.
It also enables you to eliminate self-citation.
Here is an example on how to locate citing reference for books:
Can Asians think? by Kishore Mahbubani
Enter the author's name and book title as shown below. If the publication is not indexed in Web of Science database, you only do a cited author search in the cited reference search feature.
Click on Search, select some or all of the cited references retrieved by the search. Click Finish Search to retrieve articles that cite the selected reference(s).

You will then see a list of journal articles that have cited Kishore Mahbubani's book, "Can Asians Think?"
Click on the first record, then click on Cited References. You will see a list of references cited by this record.
